When Amos Lee tells the audience, "I got you and I am gonna play all the shit I love," hang on because he means it! Amos came out on fire, despite confessing a previous night of insomnia. His Boston fans welcomed him with open arms as he hit the stage with his incredible band, performing his new release "Hold on Tight" along with crowd favorites like "Windows are Rolled Down" and "Keep it Loose, Keep it Tight."
The audience was clearly just as excited for a long-awaited reunion with the Philly native. Amos joked with the crowd about missing a Celtics game to be at his show, but it was evident that the crowd felt like they weren't missing anything at all.
With a couple of failed attempts at tuning his guitar, Amos picked up a different guitar and shared a heartfelt story about being a second-grade teacher in Philadelphia and how he used about three paychecks to purchase that guitar back in 2002. His band, filled with amazingly talented musicians, held nothing back at the Boston performance. His gratitude for their performance was evident in his "what about this band?!" praises.
Amos was a great host for the evening, inviting a couple of people to the stage to perform with him. His opening act, Julia Pratt, returned to the stage to sing "Grandma's Hands," a song by Bill Withers. A local artist, Ella, performed "Colors," and his bass player delivered an incredible rendition of "Violin." The evening was filled with emotion and an adoring crowd, wrapping up with "Flower" infused with "Moon River," a sweet surprise that brought the crowd to their feet in cheers and love for Amos Lee.
Amos is on tour for a couple more months, and this is one show not to miss. Check out his tour dates at AmosLee.Com and find him on all social media platforms.
